You can see this type of picture on seed packages. I used to think they had made a mistake because the sun picture looked funny. What they meant was the sun wasn’t around all day for some areas.

The cardinal points are North, South, East and West. Big word, simple thing.

When you walk, you are always going in some direction.

The sun comes up in the East.  Plants that  get morning light get Eastern light.  As the sun travels Westward in the sky, it passes over the plant and the plant is in shade.

A plant may get sun light in the afternoon. In the morning, it gets shade.

This is part sun, part shade. A plant gets some sun for part of the day and gets shade for part of the day
