I was thinking about how water can be a liquid, gas or solid. It seems odd that this one thing can change so much. Not only can it change from one form to another, it can change back.
Some solid forms like black ice are hard to see on asphalt. Icicles that hang from buildings can fall at any time.
Waterfalls with the water rushing over rocks can be loud and be easily found. When the ice forms, the falls become silent. Winter is known to be quieter than the other seasons. The sounds of water no longer being heard instill of sense of time being stopped.
