Streets Covered With Snow

Friday night, it started snowing and ended yesterday.  About four inches had fallen.  It was enough for the streets to be plowed and the sidewalks to be shoveled.

Here are some general pictures of snowy streets.

Some Rocks of Interest

If you’ve ever hear the phrase, you have rocks in your head, and as a matter of fact you do, I hope they are as nice as these.

Winter Light

I wear sunglasses when I take my walks. This morning there was a sharp wind and the sun was bright. The brightness had a sharp edge to it that almost hurt my eyes.

I found some pictures of winter light.

The Amazon and Nile Rivers

I came across a few wonderful pictures of the Nile and Amazon rivers.

I’ll start with the Amazon River. It is the largest river in the world.  It is in South America.

I have two maps for the Amazon River. The first map is of South America. The second map is of the Amazon River.

Clover, red for crop cover and the others just to look at

Red Clover is used for cover crops in fields. It helps the soil. It keeps those pesky weeds from going all over the place. It is also pretty.  you can use it for gardens where you will plant vegetables as well.

Red Clover is planted in the autumn, about a month before frost. It is plowed under the ground about a month before planting.

Usually, the fields that have Red Clover are in areas that aren’t too cold in the winter, like the southern United States.

Here are some pictures of clover that is nice to look at. There are about 300 kinds of clover, but I found pictures of a small number of them.

It’s cold out there, Solar System

Today has enough wind to be a tad cold outside.

It’s very cold in space. Here are some pictures of the solar system.

First, a map of the solar system. By, Chandra, Harvard.

The letters are a bit iffy, so I’ll write out the line up.

Oceans and Beaches

It is in the teens, sunny and quite windy. I was uncomfortable on my walk and from the expressions on other people’s faces, they were too.

I though a few pictures of oceans and beaches would be warming.

Seed Planters, Things of Beauty

After the ground has been harrowed, it is time to sow seeds. To plant seeds on a large scale, you need machines.

These pictures are of seed planters that are used in big fields. The first one is of crop rows.

You can see where the seeds would planted between the mounds of soil.

Snow and Ice

West of here, there have been snow storms and very cold temperatures. I found some pictures of snow and ice.
